ByStorm Delivers FileSure Version 2.0
December 5, 2008
(Magnolia, TX) ByStorm Software announced today the immediate
availability of FileSure Version 2.0. FileSure provides
best-in-class Windows file auditing, enabling Windows
administrators to identify who has accessed, modified,
deleted, or renamed files. The new release adds "Defend" -
a unique enforcement facility allowing administrators to
control how files can be used across servers and workstations.
FileSure Defend permits administrators
to precisely control the use of corporate data, preventing
many common errors and providing protection against
inadvertent and deliberate misuse of information assets.
Administrators can prevent patient records from being mailed
with personal web mail services, stop P2P programs from
inadvertently sharing proprietary CAD files, keep financial
data from being copied to memory sticks, and more. A simple
rules engine ships with built-in support for common issues
while permitting precise control for unique needs.
"Our close customer relationships drove
this new release," said Gene Allen, ByStorm president.
"We're thrilled with the response from the organizations
that have tried it so far!"
"I knew that FileSure was a winner five minutes
after installing it," said Joe McDaniel, Information Services
Manager for Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care. "Our compliance
officer loved the real time display showing who was accessing critical
data and now the defense rules in Version 2.0 ensure that patient data
remains private. It's the only thing we found that meets our needs."
ByStorm Delivers Radar - Free File Audit Utility
December 5, 2008
ByStorm announces the immediate availability of Radar.
Radar provides free file auditing for Windows administrators.
With the real-time console in Radar, administrators can view
all files touched - read, written, deleted, or renamed - over the
past two hours. Instant filtering allows an administrator to focus
attention on actions on a specific set of files, by a specific user, or on
only local or networked file access. Administrators can also select five
critical files for special attention.
Four "Top 5" charts identify the people performing the most reads,
writes, renames, and deletes. Radar users can publish an on-demand report in
PDF format.
Radar is available for immediate download at
